Film Value: Only two women are present, an old promiscuous cougar named Brenda, and an angry, bitchy, supposedly “psychic” girl named Jaimie, whom allows dickheads like second-in-charge Cage (yes, that’s his name in the movie) to walk all over her. The film's delicately choreographed battles, its use of texture and color, and its grace of movement and composition mark it as one of those rare Japanese films that survive despite overinterpretation. Basically, the whole film is an excuse for its admittedly great climactic sequence, where the samurai invades the home of the woman and her husband at night.
