With Landon safe from immediate harm, they reconnect, though before things get too physical, they're interrupted by Alaric. Aurora tells her she was right about her. She screams, bursts into flames, and sizzling skins visibly disturbing Lizzie. She is first introduced on 'The Originals' and is a central character in its spin-off, 'Legacies.' Hope wonders if this is Landon's fate; convincing people to move on. Just as fate deemed it. Landon approaches her, making attempts to reconcile until he catches sight of a statue that is revealed to be MG's mom, to their shock - a new creature is on the loose on the Salvatore grounds. She tells him she's not going to train him as she's afraid he'll get hurt or die in the process. With Lizzie saved, Hope has a new test for her. They smile at each other and he then leaves Hayley alone to continue with her letter. Cleo reveals that in her experience, she's already done the first step, speaking it out loud. Thanks to Dorian, they understand that they must face a dragon. Klaus also reveals to Esther that Hope is alive not dead as she had thought. She asks him if he wants to feel her kick. Her humanity appears, offering for her to take the left handed one. He is surprised, but throws Hope into a filing cabinet, revealing himself to be possessed by the oni. In Voodoo in My Blood, she tells her parents that the Ancestors need to talk to them about the Hollow. Hope sought to be friends with Lizzie and her sister Josie, but their relationship became tumultuous with neither liking the other for various reasons. Eventually the drug's effects wear of and the three of them wake up next to the crater at the wellness retreat. Hope explains that a head dive won't work because, for one, it's painless, and two, she's too strong. Hope gives him one condition; it's his turn to stab her. She is seen in light colored sleeveless dresses, that normally have flowers or other prints on them. Humanity Hope is just the tiny voice in her head, telling her what she already knows, but she will grow louder if she doesn't listen. She is then surprised to see her father beside her and a storm begins to ensue. Alaric asks Ben for another description of what attacked him and Jed. She's furious at Lizzie for keeping it a secret from her, but Lizzie is prioritizing. Though Hope appreciates the box and spell, her problem is her dark side. To keep the real reason secret, Hope suggests they just begin the tour. Hope manages to draw the shunka away by turning into a werewolf which confuses Landon long enough for Landon to find Rafael. Landon appears behind her, wondering if she's talking about him or her dad. He tells her that they're doomed. In There's No I In Team, or Whatever, Hope brings together Kaleb, MG, Wade, Josie and Jed and tells the the memory that Cleo shared with her. Their first lesson in Vampire 101, is mind compulsion. In I'll Never Give Up Hope, Hope is seen wondering cluelessly around Malivore having been consumed previously. When Ken arrives, she'll need to keep him busy until Lizzie can vamp in, siphon him, and trigger the explosion. He declares that he can no longer keep his promise and informs the students that the Salvatore School must close. The students turn to find her standing at the top of the stairs, admiring them all. She proposes that she doesn't have to feel any of that. Alaric believes that if they could talk to Lizzie, they can flip her back to their side. When Freya returns from trying to find Hayley, she shows Hope her mother's phone and that she has disappeared. But of course, Hope grew up to be the most irksome of them all. Despite their awkward relationship, he could use her help since the musical is about the founding of the school and she is more familiar with the people that founded it, which included her dad. Hope can't outrun her trauma forever. Hope awakens not long after, wondering where Lizzie has gone, however Lizzie returns having rejected the Keeper's deal after realizing Hope would die. In Moon Over Bourbon Street, Klaus tells Jackson he counts on the werewolves sense of unity to protect his unborn daughter. Rebekah was the first to refer to Hope as a "tribrid" instead of a "hybrid". I waited for you for years! She admits that she is but is looking for someone, with Dorian admitting that all of the students have gone home for the summer. Despite that, she'd rather just focus on the good and that's the Josie Saltzman she knows. Later she meets Alaric who asks for help then, in turn, she asks for help from Penelope and MG. After having beaten several zombies in the cemetery they find and save Josie. He remembers them, the last night they were together and how perfect it was. Hope later saves Landon from the creature who attempts to attack him whilst he is sat on a bench in the Town Square. In There in the Disappearing Light, she is trying to feel better by taking out her anger against Klaus, but she says it isn't working and he isn't the one she wants to take her anger out on. Now she questions who she saves. Hope also had dimples in her cheeks. She becomes increasingly angry when Landon, Wade, Pedro and Kaleb attempt to take down Pothos without her. Hope refuses, citing that she doesn't know what she's going through. With Lizzie by her side, they astral project into the prison world. She doesn't understand why he's back in Limbo. This is a feat that even the Original vampires are unable to do, as the dagger has to be removed for them to revive. In Some People Just Want To Watch The World Burn, Hope is with Emma in her office. The wind likely blew it away, meaning it could be anywhere. However, she doesn't have time for this session, she's busy tracking a new monster that walked on the grounds. Realizing he has some troublemakers, he calls out to his vampires to remove them, but none answer his call. His loyalty and love for Hope is unwavering despite the extreme situations, as he's willing to protect her even at the cost of his own happiness or life. Over the PA system, Alaric calls the students to report to the Grand Hall for assembly. With Trudy in the kitchen, Hope inspects photos on the mantle. If he could, he'll probably try to kill her for murdering Lizzie. Hope is looking for Greg, the man that let her in. Lizzie asks how she knew, but Hope tells her she's been avoiding the same part of the battle plan because she didn't want to know who they were going to lose. Now, we'll use those secrets to protect others. Ablah, before returning Lizzie tells her without her memories and growth as a person that Josie will still end up dead by Lizzie's hands. Lizzie reveals that she used the blood of whatever vampire donated their blood to the school's first-aid kits. Hope fights Greg one-on-one, but Hope easily overpowers him, flipping a pool table on top of him. Hope muses if they could skip the monologue to the part where she tells her why Ken didn't show up. Since she is immortal, he doesn't think he'll allow her to remain. Hope commands him not to leave and she and Lizzie telekinetically take a saw and dismember him where he stands. Her true form did not alter much, as she maintained her golden eyes, but with a hint of vivid red at the inner corner on her irises. He recalls their Matrix marathon and their whole spine is not actually a spoon debate. Hope sends in Kaleb, using his dragon fire. She admits that she's screwed and won't be able to handle the grief if she has to kill the love of her life or the guilt if she takes the easy way out and chooses peace. If he's decided to give up, she wants him to stay out of her way until she can figure out how to bring them both back. In the Library, Alaric explains to Lizzie that they are punished for fighting during the game, when she defends herself Hope can't help but make a mocking laugh and when Lizzie wants to blame her sister, Hope defends Josie. Hope suffered crippling grief after Hayley's death, and blamed herself. The spell fails and they're expelled from the therapy box. She asks Landon to trust her as she knows a way out, and the two of them jump through the Malivore portal together. In Hope's story their are knights and that without Elijah, Klaus can't survive to his own love for his child. Lizzie tells her that if it's her or her father, then she's sure about her decision. Having found what he's been searching for, he explains that the Pentelic marble should be able to absorb the sarcophagus' powers, as it was said to centuries ago in ancient Greece. Hope is able to calm him down, but he doesn't remember being possessed by the oni. Unfortunately for her, it was Hope's blood, meaning she's sire bound to her. Losing Landon won't be easy, but is sure that out of them he'll have the easiest time finding peace. In Bloodletting, it is revealed that the baby's blood is capable of turning werewolves into hybrids. She tells him that he was great today. Elijah is Hope's uncle and has sworn to protect her. Though it does sound ridiculous, it has its truth. She's not heard from Lizzie, who left for a Wellness Retreat for Witches and has become worried for her safety. He tells her that happiness is an emotion, so that's a tricky one to answer. Emmett claimed that Marcel's advanced werewolf venom can take down a hybrid, an Original, and even Hope Mikaelson. Lizzie tells him they're indisposed. Landon continues. They can now have a civilized and truthful conversation. She's too late for speeches, but Finch isn't here for that. He tells her that despite their differences there is no one that he would trust more with the life of his daughter. Hope picks back up her sword and the two begin to fight. Alaric and Kaleb continue to keep their secrets, but Hope decides to take care of Malivore herself. Hope assumes the weapon is the real Tunde blade. It can be overwhelming, but reassures her that she can handle it. In Don't It Just Break Your Heart, she is seen practicing climbing in the abandoned house and talks to Freya about triggering her werewolf side. She reminded her to be every bit of herself, since the best of Hayley is in Hope. Alaric thinks this is the point that Hope steps in, but Hope would rather send in her pawns first. A bright light engulfs her and she wakes back up in the mortal world. Lizzie even mentions that her friends are going to come look for her as soon as they find out what happened. Hope's dedication to her family is also gone, as she doesn't want Rebekah's help or any of the other Mikaelson's to come for her. Freya thinks that she's already better than all of them and her parents would agree. With Landon's return, Malivore monsters are likely to come back too. She attacks the creature while in her wolf form. They return to the sight and Hope talks to the group afterwards, with Lizzie arguing still with her. She believes it to be wrongly interpreting her feelings; she remarks that imaginary Landon is just as annoying as he is. Prior to triggering her curse, she displayed some increased agility and grace, above that of a normal human. The monster appears and attempts to attack Cleo, but Hope traps her with a spell. Lizzie can't believe Hope was tricked with the trident. Despite that her humanity's off, she's not a monster and questions if he really wants her to respond to Pedro. She believes if she can get this one thing right, then maybe she could fix everything else that's been broken. Hope admits that she was reckless and attempts to apologize, but Lizzie wants to wait. Hope believes she wouldn't have to put them through any of this if she'd just become the tribrid. She wants to meet with her so she can kill her and the rest of the triad. He tries to interject, but she continues. In The Tale of Two Wolves, with Hope's first transformation looming, Caroline questions that Crescent wolves could control their transformations. Hope wants to know what the cost was and Landon tells her that he doesn't feel anything. Alaric is also Hope's head master at her boarding school and also her coach in learning how to fight, physically of course. Klaus arrives and at the compound, she tells him that the voices stopped when she began to commit the violence against Elijah. However, Hope has actually come to issue her own challenge, according to the Old Ways. Their minds are transported into another world, a Chambre de Chasse. Landon reiterates that she thought she was fated to die. He's not ready to let her go. Vincent later extracts the Hollow's spirit out of Hope, dividing the four pieces into Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol. Cleo believed this was what she wanted; however, Hope can't do that, that was before she knew that there was a portal. The only emotions Hope expresses are boredom and rage. Hope deflects, telling him that he looks silly in a suit. They lie on the ground, unconscious as a figure emerges from the crater. Lizzie barges into her room determined to commence with operation 'Rescue Hope from Herself'. He asks for her hand, which she gives, and he covers it with his other hand. Before that was Mystic Falls and he built a school for her. She doesn't want to kill them and her humanity is there somewhere. With a number of changes at the school, Hope and Lizzie began a new semester, to guide the next class of supernatural students to be heroes. He appears suddenly, startling her due to his quietness. With Hope down, he turns his attention to Lizzie and she's unable to help. After reuniting with Alaric and Emma, Emma uses a spell to send an electric shock throughout the students and teachers to get the slugs out of them. Hope pushes the banshee for more answers, particularly with Cleo gone, will Landon be safe. At first, there's nothing, but then you slowly realize there's nothing. Hope later steps in between Landon and Rafael when Rafael begins acting aggressively towards him due to the oni's possession. Lizzie scoffs at her remark and leaves. In I'll See You in Hell or New Orleans, Hope is seen crying in her cradle because she cannot sleep due to the loud music on the streets. Genevieve agrees with Elijah, if they deliver the baby Hayley will bleed to death. Asking what she had in mind, she tells him that she wants to find a way to bring him back with her so that she won't have to fight alone. She confesses she misses being in a studio herself, but was more of a sculptor. The team agrees to the plan and Jed questions if Cleo inspired any blueprints for the spell. She and Lizzie had reconciled their differences, Landon's back, and her defensive perimeter spell had kept any monsters from appearing. She claims it was a ruse and tells him that the weapon is effective. Rebekah steps out of Rousseau's, reassuring her that everything lost, can be found. They love and miss her, as they do her. Elated, Hope questions if he's keeping the school open. Despite this shortcoming, warriors are the ones that win battles, not the weapons. Halfway through their stars, Pedro is the sixth one to present to Hope. She once expressed to her father that she was lonely, never having any other kids her own age to play with. Since she's not a tribrid anymore, and just a vampire, any old stake will do. In Facing Darkness is Kinda My Thing, Hope awakens in a princess-themed narrative inside of Josie's head. Landon is upset that Hope has been lying to him and storms out. Ryan wakes, though he's still himself. They'll need Cleo to inspire a new plan. The dragon returns and Hope jokes that she has vanquished one before, laughing at Clarke asking how a super-villain could be scared. She confides in Landon that she feels so much pressure. It's not what it seems, all she wants to do is track the monster back to the Malivore portal and she releases the creature for her to track with his blood. Hope questions why he never turned it off, but he knows that is never the answer. Hope recounts that witches lose their abilities to do magic when they complete their transition. Her father will never know peace until she does, and now she has the opportunity. She tells her mother about Henry and listens as she is told what Greta wants to do with her and her mother, given their hybrid status, clearly upset. She can't stand by and lose it. In the present time of From a Cradle to a Grave, Hayley has been taken to St. Anne's Church by Genevieve, Monique Deveraux, Abigail and a few other witches. Despite this, Genevieve states that Hope's magic is strong enough to fuel the French Quarter Coven's Ancestral magic for generations, while one of the Hollow's acolytes reiterates this sentiment when he states that Hope might be the greatest witch the world may ever know. Alaric tells Hope that he has gathered that she is not actually "Hope Marshall" and her cover story is a lie, a notion which she confirms willingly. MG asks what she'll miss most. She couldn't have known. After some time, Hope bursts out of the room, hitting Alaric and MG with the door. Genevieve starts bleeding out of her eyes as the ancestors are coming for her since she failed them. She was unique, like when he found out he was a fairy. She doesn't like Cleo's suggestion. Landon doesn't stop her as it depends on whatever she's planning. She is the granddaughter of Ansel, Esther Mikaelson and two unnamed werewolves, as well as the step-granddaughter of Mikael. Hope closes off her humanity once again. She continues to lose control of her magic, but Kaleb reins her in. Hope Jane Mikaelson is a main character in Legacies, she was a former majorly recurring character in The Originals before being promoted to a main character in the fifth season. Legacies is a spinoff show of The Vampire Diaries universe that focuses on a school for children with supernatural abilities. Already annoyed, Hope threatens to turn this into Survivor if people begin to sing, alarming some of the surrounding students. She's just come to say goodbye. She questions Landon on where the knife is and who is responsible for the accident, he answers that it is a woman who is responsible but Hope doesn't believe him. Finally, she asks that Hayley tells the baby stories of 'her crazy aunt Bex' and, despite her absence, she really does love her niece. She'll take Josie's place and perform the spell. Later on, Dahlia manages to get some of Hope's blood which makes Hope upset. In There's a World Where Your Dreams Came True, Hope is seen talking to Alaric about the urn when Lizzie and Josie burst through the doors having returned home. The complicated ancestry of her parents means that she is a tribrid, a combination of a werewolf, witch, and vampire. She hands him his money and a ticket out of town. Hope is shown to be angry that the one person she lets in might've betrayed her and that when she hunts him down, she's going to be the villain of his story. Lizzie doesn't understand what she's talking about as she was showering out the chlorine from the pool. As her aunt began to prepare the home for the Holidays they are all outside of the home waiting for Hope's parents. In That's Nothing I Had to Remember, Hope grows closer with Ethan as they prepare for Commonwealth Day, and Ethan tells Hope to ask him out if she ever wishes to spend time with him. She also says that, though Niklaus is a dangerous person, there is hope for him, and the baby is a focal point of that. Hope questions that he should be able to sense whether or no she's dead. In Yup, It's a Leprechaun, All Right, Hope attends the morning assembly with most of the other students. After Dana's death, Hope says it must be a monster from the knife who is responsible. Josie performs the transfusion ritual and Hope sits on the sidelines, talking to Alaric. The Barker gives Hope a warning. With the bust complete, she inscribed 'luctus' on Landon's chest and cast an incendia spell to bake the bust. Hope questions if it really is him, and he quips back if she said that to all the Landons. Later in the evening, Hope goes to the Bayou for her mother's funeral and tells Freya they have to save their family. She tells him that Landon says hi, learning she was in Limbo. Hope agrees, but she believes this is her only chance at peace. She and Landon are the first to catch Kaleb, very quickly they are joined by Lizzie and MG. After Josie is injured and unable to perform, Dr. Goodfellow's inspiring words convince her to step into Josie's role as Elena and sing the grand finale. Later that night, she and Landon talk about his first day back at the school. As a fully transitioned tribrid, Hope did not lose her magic and can continue to practice witchcraft. Reading over the lyrics, she becomes furious that he used her dad's letter despite asking him not to involve her family. After Klaus hears of Hayley leaving the house, he berates her and demands to know what she was doing. Sophie then demanded that Klaus help her or she would kill the baby and its mother. Picking her up by the throat, he throws her into the school gates, impaling her in the stomach. Landon acts as if he was the Necromancer as she and him rehearse the conversation. Aurora emerges from the dust with the spear. If she earns those ten points, then Vincent will drop the spell that's keeping her here. He admits that he bribed Pedro with a candy bar, but apparently overpaid considering she was able to get through it. Despite her asking not to involve her family, Landon rebuttals her. Wade tells her that she has to get out of there, but Hope refuses to run. When she first discovered she was pregnant, she attempted to abort the baby by ingesting wolfsbane, but when she couldn't resolve herself to do it she was attacked and she realized that she wasn't just protecting herself but the baby as well. Hope gets in a fight with Alaric and tells him that he's not her father. Hope stays and explains that she used to date his brother and Trudy, wanting to meet Ryan's friends, invites her in. As a Labonair, Hope has a Crescent birthmark on her right shoulder, similar to that of her mother and distant relatives, Eve, Lana, and the Hollow. As Hope and Lizzie continue to argue, Professor Vardemus reminds them that they cannot let an immensely powerful artifact that may have ties to the gods loose into the world. Josie believes she's reachable, but she mocks her, citing that she could just kill them all and never have this conversation again. Hope asks how Lizzie would proceed with their hostile witness. Dorian leaves, but believes that Hope is right. He realized something about Josie's story from earlier. She tells him she can't really be dead, because otherwise he wouldn't try to kill her and the baby. She admitted that it was a good plan and questions why she wasn't told sooner. If they do that, they're guaranteeing that someone's going to die. Like her, she had a solid plan B, which was running away. Hope quips about the dragon's soft spot, but falls to the ground, nearly unconscious. Her dark side scoffs at the thought, believing that won't get rid of her. That is her legacy. They, however, do care for one another. They are then interrupted by Freya and he walks off, leaving them to talk more. Hope stabs the spear into the ground next to her body, telling her that is not all he was capable of. The one person she doesn't believe she could fight. She begins an incantation for the other van until Josh moves her before Emmett can kill her. Rafael understands no matter her choice. The defeat of Malivore triggered the arrival of the gods and Hope's humanity to shut-off. Hope reminds her that all of those things are a part of her and they always will be. Alaric and the others proceed with their simulation. She listens as Freya gives her eulogy and as her mother's body is lit on fire, she tells her goodbye. She goes to Klaus and they hug each other. She is independent and believes she can complete any task by herself, though she slowly becomes more willing to work with others. Hope scoffs and questions if Ken really sent her into battle not knowing if his weapon would work. Either way, they need to stop him. She explains that he was right about the strategy, but wrong about who should trigger the explosion. In Girl in New Orleans, Agnes persuades Hayley to go to a doctor out in The Bayou who agrees after a notice of Rebekah who told her that she must care most about her child. She could have been killed. Hope is by birthright a member of the Crescent Wolf Pack and the North East Atlantic Pack, as well as an unnamed witch family, and the only child fathered by the Original Hybrid. Hope embraces Freya in a hug as they reunite. Aurora stands watching events unfold, not willing to intervene. Wade has adjusted the stats, though doesn't see how this is much of a battle upgrade, though Rupert believes much remains to be seen. When it's time to fight, Josie has to rely on her darker half. She listens when her mother tells her about turning into a wolf and they think of a plan. If they can find Cleo, then she could help inspire a plan to free her. She believes he's alive. In I Couldn't Have Done This Without You, Hope aids Josie in a spell to slow down the mora miserium's degradation. Hope says hi to him and he tells her he's coming to New Orleans. He believes them to be beautiful and poetic, and it shows her dad in such a great light. Hope is awake and stops him, but she hesitates. Finch believes that to be a good thing, but Hope believes that it's not if she was to ever lose her way again. She ends up in the care of Klaus' sister, Rebekah (Claire Holt), the only person whom Klaus trusts to raise and protect Hope. When Landon resuscitates, she's as surprised as the others. She's the new girl and her roommate, and things were going great until they got into a big fight. After the lunch, Landon wanders into one of the hallways of the school when Hope catches up, she evokes the idea that it's Connor who is responsible for the disappearance of Dana and Sasha but Landon refuses this idea and proposes to follow a girl with a scarf because it could be a clue. Hope reluctantly tells him about what happened when she had to kill him and her humanity shut off. Hope, however, corrects him. In Crescent City, Cleste states Elijah has a niece on the way. Sophie revealed that the baby is one of Nature's "loopholes". The Necromancer speaks from behind her, telling her that he wouldn't do that. As Hope attempts to leave the carnival, the Barker approaches her. He begins with how he made Ethan's mother a promise, just like all of their parents when they enrolled, that he'd care for them as his own. Hope pulled out the dagger and confronted her aunt that night. She thinks the whole act is stupid since Hope's just being a bully. In God's Gonna Trouble the Water, she wakes up in her dorm room while Freya is watching over her and wonders where her mother is, and cries when she finds out she's dead. One of the new students, Cleo, finds her and asks if she's okay. He asks if the Necromancer ever revived, but he didn't. Hayley's parents thought they could protect her, but in the end they were killed and Hayley spent her childhood alone and unloved. She tells Hope a fairy tale based on her father and New Orleans. She's also a witch descended from the Mikaelson Bloodline one of the most magically powerful lineages. We'll say one thing for the CW: the network has a stellar track record of assembling ensemble casts for the cottage industry they're building in supernatural teen soaps. Hope sends in Kaleb though Ben states that Ken would strike with lightning.
